Whether or not WD is non-notable as a professor (one book out with Yale University press) he is a critic with many publications in important and widely read journals including The Nation and the New York Times; comparable to James Wood or Adam Phillips (probably careerwise closest to Joshua Clover). Not quite Terry Eagleton noteriety yet, but definitely worth keeping to expand. Formulafiftypoet 20:08, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I declined to delete the article on William Deresiewicz as a speedy deletion, but it will need considerably more information to avoid being deleted. A list of publications would help, and a list of any prizes or awards he won fro his book reviewing or other work. Be aware that assistant professors are not necessarily considered appropriate for WP articles. Please notes that comparisons aren't accepted here as evidence. Hi DGG. I've added more information and fleshed out the article more. I hope this is sufficient to establish the page for awhile so it can grow. Formulafiftypoet 20:53, 18 July 2007 (UTC)[reply]

The article says Deresiewicz did a negative review of Terry Eagleton. However, the article cited seems positive in regards to Eagleton.
